HDC Awards Certificates to 49 Graduates of Apprenticeship Program

Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has awarded certificates to 49 individuals who successfully completed its apprenticeship program. The certificates were presented by Minister of Higher Education Dr. Ali Haider Ahmed at a special ceremony.
This marks the seventh edition of HDC’s apprenticeship program, which is conducted in alignment with the "National Competency Standards" set by the Maldives National Skills Development Authority. Participants who complete the program receive a National Level 3 qualification recognized by the Maldives Qualification Authority, along with valuable work experience.
The six-month program provided hands-on training in six key areas: Gardening, Computer Hardware and Networking, Front Office Services, Health and Safety in Construction, Electrical Installation and Maintenance, and Construction Site Supervision. Participants also received a monthly allowance throughout the duration of the program.
HDC stated that the primary objective of the initiative is to develop skilled and capable professionals in various fields while also offering opportunities for individuals who are undecided about their career paths. The program aims to equip youth with practical skills, facilitate their transition into the workforce, and contribute to the creation of a productive and skilled workforce.
Additionally, HDC reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the government's initiative to train 3,000 youth for the workforce. The company emphasized its dedication to developing young professionals essential for national progress and pledged to continue creating opportunities for youth advancement.
