Jumhooree Party (JP) leader Qasim Ibrahim has been officially presented with the party's presidential ticket for the upcoming September presidential election.
During a ceremony held at the Alimas Carnival area in Malé, Secretary General of Jumhooree Party and former Vaikaradhoo MP Ali Arif, presented the party's presidential ticket along with a copy of the Maldives constitution to Qasim.
During the launch of his presidential campaign under the slogan "Haaskandaalaa, Kuriah Dheveyne" which translates to "move forward without worry," Maamigili MP Qasim expressed his decision to contest in the presidential election with the aim of establishing a harmonious and happy environment for the people of Maldives.
Qasim said that if he is elected as president, he will strive to establish a strong government that excels in education and experience, surpassing any seen before.
Qasim revealed some key aspects of the party's manifesto for the upcoming presidential elections.
These include raising the allowance for senior citizens to MVR 7,000 and establishing a referral system for specialist doctors within seven days. He pledged to support the growth of small businesses and create 100 millionaires during his five-year tenure.
Qasim also emphasized his commitment to establish the most non-corrupt government in recent times by increasing the usable reserve to USD 1 billion.
