Former President Nasheed has been invited to visit Saudi Arabia by King Salman. According to sources he will be visiting the kingdom on 15th October.
International Spokesperson of MDP Haamidh Abdul Ghafoor said that President Nasheed was talking with Saudi officials even before the election. At the moment President Nasheed is in the UK.
According to Haamidh a senior official of Saudi Arabia visited Sri Lanka and met President Nasheed. No other information about the trip has been revealed so far.
When President-elect Solih won the election, King Salman sent a special delegation to congratulate him and assured Saudi support for his administration.
