Chairperson of MDP, Hassan Latheef have said that former President Nasheed will return to Maldives on 1st November and he will return as a free man, with the freedom to engage in political activities.
Speaking to the press Hassan Latheef said that he will return to Maldives after spending 3 years 9 months and 10 days in jail and abroad.
He said that the welcoming ceremony will be held in Male’ since all the members of the party wants to welcome him. “He has earned the love of all Maldivians. Hence we request those who want to welcome him to be in Male’ on that day” said Hassan Latheef.
Hassan Latheef said that he will reveal details of the activities that will take place on that day. He further said that since all Maldivians and the whole world believes that President Nasheed was treated unjustly, the government cannot do anything to apprehend him on that day.
