Maldives condemns deadly mosque attack in Pakistan’s Islamabad

The Government of the Maldives has strongly condemned a deadly attack at a mosque in Islamabad’s Tarlai area, which took place during Friday prayers on 6 February and left many people dead and others injured.
In a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maldives expressed its deepest condolences to the Government and people of Pakistan, offering sympathy to the families of those killed and wishing a swift recovery to the injured.
The Maldives reaffirmed its firm rejection of terrorism in all its forms, describing attacks on places of worship as assaults on humanity, religion and shared moral values.
The statement added that the Maldives stands in solidarity with Pakistan and supports international efforts to combat terrorism.
