Health Minister pledges transformational overhaul of Addu City’s healthcare system

The Minister of Health Abullah Nazim Ibrahim has stated that during the current administrations term, a revolutionary change will occur to Addu City’s healthcare system as a result of government efforts to expand health services.
The minister made the remarks at the opening ceremony of the government’s optical shop and a cardiac catheterization lab or cath lab in Addu Equatorial Hospital in Addu City.
Health Minister Nazim highlighted the tangible progress made to the nation’s healthcare system. The advancement made to healthcare across the atolls is evidence of this progress, he noted. The Minister pledged that emphasis will be given to Addu atoll in these government efforts.
While the government has initiative many projects focused on healthcare expansion, the minister revealed that President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has directed a substantial effort into resolving the health-related challenges faced by citizens. The minister linked the positive developments in healthcare to reverberating positive impacts socially and on the broader nation as well.
Minister Nazim also revealed that President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s envisions a comprehensive interconnected healthcare system for Addu City. And for development to progress as such. Under this pregogative, health centers in various islands in Addu atoll are being upgraded and facilities interconnected to these upgrades are being developed, he said.
Health Minister concluded his remarks by reiterating that Addu City’s healthcare system will undergo a transformative change. Over the current administration five-year term, Addu city will witness a new chapter in healthcare, with the inception of many new services and facilities, he disclosed.
