Tourism Minister Moosa Zameer has stated that every exhibition was a chance to promote the country and that such exhibitions will bring a revolutionary beneficial change to the tourism sector.
He made the statement speaking in the opening ceremony of the Hotel Asia Exhibition 2016 in Dharubaaruge this morning.
In his address, Minister Zameer highlighted on the work carried out by the Government to promote tourism in the country. He said this included the creation of domestic airports in new regions and providing assistance to open resorts stalled in construction. He especially noted the work carried out to upgrade Ibrahim Nasir International Airport.
Minister Zameer said before the end of this five-year term, the nation will see a number of new resorts opening up. He added that when these resorts came into operation, hundreds of jobs will be created.
He further noted the training programs for youth initiated by the Government.
