Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Mohamed Anas concluded a two-day visit to Thinadhoo in Huvadhoo Atoll, engaging directly with local fishermen to assess their needs and strengthen the company's support services across the region.
During his visit, CEO Anas toured multiple MIFCO facilities across the country before arriving in Thinadhoo, where he met with fishermen at the harbour area and the fishermen's square. The meetings provided an open platform for fishing communities to voice the difficulties and concerns they face in their daily operations.
The visit also included an inspection of the ongoing Thinadhoo Fisheries Complex project, which is nearing completion. Once operational, the facility is expected to significantly ease the hardships faced by fishermen in Huvadhoo Atoll, particularly those in the southern reaches of the atoll.
The outreach initiative forms part of MIFCO's broader strategy to strengthen relations with fishermen nationwide, gain firsthand understanding of their evolving needs, and enhance the company's services and operations in a sustainable manner.
