BML arranges dedicated USD purchase service for umrah pilgrims

Bank of Maldives (BML) has announced it will begin a dedicated dollar purchase service on February 8 for umrah pilgrims travelling with an umrah group during Ramadan.
The service will be available from BML Customer Service Center (ground floor) at Ameenee Magu in Male’ City from 09:30 am to 12:30 pm on banking days between February 8 to February 26.
Tokens for this service can be taken at the venue on the day of collection.
BML advices customers to take note of the following in order to ensure prompt and quick service:
Customers using this service must be included in the umrah travelers list submitted by umrah groups.
Valid ID cards or passports (original) must be presented for each traveler at the time of purchase. If a third party or representative is purchasing dollars on behalf of a traveler, their ID card (original) must also be presented.
Up to USD 500 can be purchased per person.
Customers can purchase dollars for up to five travelers at a time.
Payments can be made via BML issued Debit cards.
Meanwhile, pilgrims traveling independently can continue to use the USD Booking Portal to purchase dollars, for collection at the Departure Hall at the Velana International Airport.
During this period, umrah USD sales will not be available at branches in the Greater Male’ region. However, customers residing outside the Greater Male’ region can continue to visit their nearest branches for dollar purchases.
