Joint Opposition candidate Solih meets ex-President Nasheed

Joint Opposition presidential candidate Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has met with former President Mohamed Nasheed in Sri Lanka.
Solih is in Sri Lanka to meet Maldivians living in the country on Monday with Nasheed.
Solih was greeted at the airport by former foreign minister Ahmed Naseem and Hamid Abdul Ghafoor, the international spokesperson for Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) and later met with Nasheed, the self-exiled leader of MDP.
This was the first time that Solih, MDP’s parliamentary group leader, met with Nasheed since being elected as the presidential candidate of the opposition coalition parties.
Solih is being accompanied by MDP chairperson Hassan Latheef, MDP’s vice president Mohamed Shifaz, Jumhooree Party’s deputy leader Dr. Hussain Rasheed, Adhaalath Party’s deputy leader Ali Zahir, and Aminath Nadira, who is a close associate of former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom.
Solih and Nasheed began meeting with Maldivians in Sri Lanka on Monday afternoon at a public campaign event at Berjaya Hotel in Colombo.
