President of the Adhaalath Party, Sheikh Imran Abdulla has said that the case against former Defence Minister Colonel (retired) Mohamed Nazim is a plot by the government to destroy all political opponents of the President.
Sheikh Imran said that the truth behind this case is being exposed and those who framed Nazim have accused and charged him with very dangerous claims.
“This is a very sinister plot. They have framed him to destroy his carrier,” he said.
He said that the Adhaalath Party have been patient with the government but finally decided to withdraw the support of the party to the government when the party became certain that the government is turning more despotic and totalitarian.
Sheikh Imran said that they will not remain silent regarding the oppressions of the government. He said that they will expose and criticize the government to make them accountable for their actions.
He said that Adhaalath Party first thought that the issues will be resolved through mutual discussion with the government however it did not.
“Therefore we tried to internally to bring rectification to the government hopeful that peace and stability will be restored,” he said.
Sheikh Imran said that Adhaalath Party left the government when the party became certain that the government does not want any rectification. He said that if Adhaalath Party remains with the government then the party will be also responsible for the actions of the government.
