Former President and the leader of opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) Mohamed Nasheed had stated in court that he needs minimum 10 days period to appoint defence attorneys to represent him in the ongoing case.
Nasheed made his statement during his hearing held at the Criminal Court tonight.
He stated the former legal team had withdrawn from the case and he needs a time period to appoint new. “You should know. Lawyers do not grow on trees.”
The presiding bench had stated he has the opportunity to appoint lawyers as he had before.
