The Ministry of Defense has announced that the Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) will be conducting operations in Male' City in preparation for next month’s Victory Day celebrations.
According to the ministry’s statement issued Thursday, the army will continue its activities in the capital until November 3.
The exercises will include the use of simulated explosives, such as blanks typically used by the military for training purposes.
The ministry noted that such operations are conducted periodically by the MNDF. In addition to ceremonial drills, the army also carries out various military exercises in the area.
