MWSC relaunches app with new digital services

Male’ Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) on Sunday relaunched its mobile application with new digital services, including login via e-Faas and automated meter linking.
The app was relaunched by MWSC’s chairperson Shamhooza Ahmed and managing director Abdul Matheen Mohamed in a ceremony attended by board directors and the management team of the company.
The company said the upgrade marks a transformative leap in its strategic commitment to delivering superior customer experience through cutting-edge digital solutions.

According to MWSC, the comprehensive upgrade introduces a suite of advanced features and streamlined services, setting a new benchmark for convenience and efficiency in utility management within the Maldives.
MWSC described the revitalization of its digital platform as a cornerstone of the company’s dedication to digital transformation and operational excellence, and one that aligns seamlessly with the national ‘Maldives 2.0’ program.
Speaking at the launch event, Matheen said the upgrade embodies MWSC's forward-thinking vision to make service delivery more intelligent, expeditious, and ecologically sustainable.
“This launch represents the inaugural phase of MWSC's comprehensive digital transformation roadmap, integral to the national 'Maldives 2.0' program, which is meticulously designed to modernize public service accessibility through groundbreaking technological advancements,” he said.

According to MWSC, the new app consolidates all functionalities previously offered via the MWSC mobile app and e-portal into a single, intuitive, and highly responsive mobile interface, alongside an array of newly integrated, customer-centric features.
New features introduced under the new app include:
Login via e-Faas: Seamless and secure sign-in through the national digital ID platform, ensuring enhanced security and user convenience.
Automated meter linking: Upon successful e-Faas authentication, the application intelligently auto-suggests linking of all utility meters registered under the user's name, significantly simplifying account management.
Comprehensive service application and payment platform: Users can now effortlessly apply for a full spectrum of water and sewerage services, monitor the real-time status of their submitted applications, and execute secure payments directly within the application.
Smart meter telemetry and predictive billing:
- Access to daily meter readings and detailed water consumption patterns
- Proactive forecasts of the upcoming bill amounts, empowering informed usage decisions.

Bill request feature: Allows customers to submit a current meter reading with a picture for verification at any point during the billing cycle to request immediate bill generation.
Multi-pay option: Multi-pay option facilitates the payment of a single bill, multiple bills, or even bills for multiple customer accounts in one go.
Account history: Comprehensive access to one year of your account statements through the app.
The app is available for download from platforms including the Apple App Store and Google Play.
