Government of China has donated 460,000 dollars, 7 million Rufiyaa for the development of Male’ City.
The grant was handed over to the government of Maldives during a ceremony held at Housing Ministry earlier today. Housing Minister Dr.Muhammad Muizzu accepted the grant on behalf of Maldives. Chinese Ambassador to Maldives Mr.Wang Fukang presented the grant on behalf of the Chinese government.
The money will be used to develop 7 pedestrians only alleyways in Male and to develop a park in Villimale. The Chinese Ambassador said that this donation is also a gift from the people of China to Maldivians and that China will continue to give such gifts to the people of Maldives.
In addition, speaking to Miadhu News, the ambassador said that China will assist the government of Maldives to reduce congestion in Male.
The MP for Villimale constituency Nihaan Hussain Manik thanked Chinese Ambassador and the government of China on behalf of the people Villimale for their generous donation. Nihaan said that the people of Villimale has been longing for a well-developed park and that he accepts this donation as a huge gift.
