Islamic Minister Dr.Ziyad Baqir have said that offering Zakat is a pillar of Islam and those who do not offer Zakat will have their Islam incomplete.
Dr.Ziyad made this statement during a ceremony held at Islamic Center this afternoon to award letters of notification to 6 Thallesemia patients who were funded by the Zakath Foundation for bone-marrow transplant.
Dr.Ziyad said that the money received as Zakath should be used to solve problems in the society. He said that funding for bone-marrow transplant is also one such way the money can be used.
In addition, he said that very few people offer Zakath and according to the records of Islamic Ministry, only 10 percent of the people among the people who are obliged to offer Zakath offers it. He also said that Islam obligates the state to collect Zakat and asked everyone to cooperate with the state to do it. He said that it is something mandatory to complete one’s religion.
