President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has announced that, for the first time since the Right to Information (RTI) Act came into force in 2014, the President’s Office and all Government ministries have achieved 100 per cent compliance with proactive disclosure requirements.
In a message shared on his official X account, the President noted that his Administration has made information that was previously inaccessible readily available to the public. He described the achievement as a significant step towards strengthening transparency, improving access to information, and enhancing accountability across Government institutions.
The President emphasised that transparency is not merely a policy objective, but a fundamental pillar of public trust and democratic governance. He stated that the Administration recognises the right to information as a cornerstone of an open, accountable, and responsive Government, adding that it represents an important step towards strengthening transparency, improving public access to information, and enhancing accountability across Government institutions.
He also commended the institutions and public officials whose dedication and commitment contributed to achieving this milestone. President Dr Muizzu reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to expand public access to information through digital platforms and promote greater civic participation in governance and decision-making processes.
The President further reiterated the Administration’s commitment to strengthening transparency and accountability while continuing to build a more open and accessible Government.
