President Abdullah Yameen Abdul Qayyoom has launched the Maldives - China Trade Cultural Organisation (MCTCO).
The organization was launched in a ceremony held in Billabong school tonight.
Organization Chair Musthafa said the purpose of the organization was to bolster trade and cultural ties between the two nations.
“Currently we conduct Chinese lessons. We translate documents for the Government as needed,”
Musthafa said that such an organization was launched to mark the deepening ties between the two nations and to solidify it.
He said the opening signified the close partnership between the two nations and the significance President Yameen had given to develop it during his tenure.
Chinese Ambassador Wang Fukang, members of Chinese Embassy and state dignitaries attended the ceremony.
Housing Minister Dr. Mohamed Muizz was the honorary Chair of the organization with Mohamed Musthafa as the President.
