MDP Chairperson expressed that wishes demonstrators to go into altercation with the security forces، but he can visualize the blood shed that is imminent if such altercations were to take place.
While speaking during today’s MDP-JP protests in the early evening، MDP Chairperson Ali Waheed assured no amount of such altercations or blood shed will occur under his helm as Chairperson.
“The protesters in this demonstrations want confrontation، but if they are allowed to confront security forces I can imagine the blood shed that may follow” he stated.
Ali Waheed also assured the demonstrations will undergo according to the discussed plan of both parties. Furthermore، he also stated the prime purpose of the demonstration is to show the government their “place” and their “strength”. He also added that if the government does not comply with the 13 demands held by MDP-JP end، they will return again.
“If the 13 demands are not complied accordingly then we will return، our aim is to show the government their place” Ali Waheed said.
Today’s protests have been attended by approximately 12،000 people. While the protest had been peaceful for a better half of the early evening، tension has broken out and reports are coming in of violent altercations between protesters and security forces.
Recent reports confirm a total of 22 protesters have been arrested by security forces so far.
