Trans Maldivian Airways (TMA) — the world’s largest seaplane operator has announced the company will be increasing the fleet size with four additional aircraft added to the fleet.
The first of the four seaplanes, which are being flown in from Portugal, arrived in the Maldives on Thursday. According to TMA, the remaining three are scheduled to arrive in the Maldives next month. In addition to that, TMA has stated that this is the highest number of seaplanes the company has added to its fleet at once, over the past 30 years.
The seaplane operator has further noted that the additional aircraft would help the company to inflate the services in the tourism industry, further nothing the importance of expanding its fleet in accordance with the string of new resorts being unveiled across the island archipelago.
Trans Maldivian Airways Ltd. is a private airline headquartered on the grounds of Velana International Airport in Malé, Maldives. Operating out of Velana International Airport, TMA is the oldest air transfer operator operating in the country, providing seaplane transfer services to a large number of tourist resorts.
