The Islamic University of Maldives (IUM) has officially opened enrollment for more than 60 academic programs scheduled to commence in the second semester of this year. Applications are open until 1:00 PM on July 15th, and prospective students can submit forms either at the university’s main campus in Malé, its Learning Centers across the atolls, or online.
In an announcement released by IUM, the university detailed a broad array of courses available across various academic levels including Doctorate, Masters, Bachelor’s, Associate Degree, Diploma, and Certificate programs. Courses span key areas such as Islamic Shariah, Quranic Sciences, Arabic Language, Islamic Education, Business Management, and Islamic Banking and Finance.
Doctorate-Level Programs:
- PhD in Islamic Judicial Sciences and Legislative Policy
- PhD in Education
- PhD in Management and Leadership
Master’s-Level Programs:
- Master of Qira’at
- MA in Quranic Sciences
- MA in Fiqh and Usul al-Fiqh
- MA in Aqeedah and Islamic Thoughts
- MA in Journalism and Media Communications
- MA in TESOL
- MA in Arabic Linguistics
- Master of Comparative Laws
- Master of Islamic Revealed Knowledge, Leadership and Administration

IUM specified that each course will be conducted only if a minimum of 15 students enroll. The broad scope of programs reflects the university’s commitment to expanding access to both traditional Islamic knowledge and modern academic disciplines.
