Maldivian Unveils “Dhivehi Raajje” Livery to Celebrate 60 Years of Maldivian Independence

Maldivian, the national airline of the Maldives, has introduced a special livery addition to commemorate the nation’s 60th year of independence. The new design prominently features the phrase “ދިވެހިރާއްޖެ” (Dhivehi Raajje) in Dhivehi script, paying tribute to the country’s heritage, language, and national pride.
The first aircraft to showcase this emblem was Maldivian’s Airbus A330, which made the inaugural landing at the newly opened Velana International Airport terminal yesterday, marking a historic milestone as the first airline to land at the new facility.
This emblem will be gradually applied across the airline’s entire fleet, reinforcing Maldivian’s role as the national carrier and its deep connection to Maldivian identity. The gesture celebrates the unity and spirit of the sovereign nation during this landmark year.
Ali Saleem, Deputy Managing Director of Island Aviation Services Limited, said, “As the national airline, we take immense pride in carrying the name ‘Dhivehi Raajje’ across our skies. This meaningful tribute reflects our identity and values each time we take flight.”
