(Fuvahmulah): The strongest and biggest volleyball tournament targeted for women so far in Maldives، “Fuvahmulah Dhekunu Dhaaira Cup 2015” has begun today.
This tournament which is carried out in the Funaadu volleyball court in Fuvahmulah، was inaugurated at the opening ceremony by parliament member of North Fuvahmulah constituency، Ali Shah and parliament member of Central Fuvahmulah constituency، Ali Fazad.

While the teams competing in this tournament have been preparing for over a month، foreign players and a coach have been assigned to five of the teams. This includes coach of Nepal’s national team، two players of Nepal’s national team and five of Sri Lanka’s national team and national level players.
In addition to this، while the famous Maldivian coach، Ibrahim Rasheed (Satho) is coaching in this tournament، a total of six of Maldives national team and national level players will also play in this tournament.
In this tournament which will be played amongst the seven wards of Fuvahmulah، the first match was played today by Funaadu Sports Club against Dhoodigan Sports Club.
In addition to these two teams، the other teams participating in this tournament are Youth Empower Society (Maalegan)، Maadhadi Omalaas، Hoadhadu Spikers، Miskiymagu Enmen Ge Gulhun and Dhadimagu Ranin.
The final match of this tournament which began today will be played on the 2nd of October.
