President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has presented the awards to the winners of the Youth Awards 2021. He presented the awards to 10 individuals at the ceremony held in Kulhudhuffushi City to mark the National Youth Day.
The winners of the Youth Awards are Abdulla Yaman in the area of fisheries, Afa Hussain in the area of environmental protection, Ahmed Abdul Kareem in the area of sports progression, and Aishath Thoifa in the area of volunteering. The Youth Awards were also given to Ali Fawaz in the area of agriculture, Ahmed Arushad in the area of business and economy, and Hassan Faruhan Mohamed in the area of youth empowerment. Other winners include Izzath Ahmed Nizar in the area of Dhivehi language and culture, Mariyam Shahuda in the area of empowering people with special needs, and Nazim Hassan in the area of arts and craftsmanship.
The Youth Award is presented to individuals to recognise and encourage the youth for their invaluable contributions to the development of youth in various sectors.
The award recognises the important role played by the youth in national development and encourages them to be productive and responsible for the benefit of society.
