President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has sent a message of sympathy to the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, following the terrorist attack on the Army Base in Uri in Kashmir, India Yesterday early morning.
The President’s message reads as follows:
“It was with utmost shock and sorrow that I learned of the terrorist attack on the Army Base in Uri in Kashmir, India, killing 17 soldiers and injuring many more.
The Maldives condemns terrorism in the strongest terms, in all its forms and manifestation. The terror and discord such attacks pose to regional as well as international peace and security will not be tolerated.”
“During this time of national grief, on behalf of the Government and the people of the Maldives, and on my own behalf, allow me to convey sincere condolences and solidarity to Your Excellency and the people of India, particularly the families of the bereaved.”
