The parliament has accepted the resolution submitted o the parliament calling to free president Nasheed. The majority of the parliament members voted to accept the resolution and it was sent to the parliament committee independent institutions.
The resolution was submitted to the parliament by MP Eva Abdullah. Forty-eight members voted in favor of the resolution while 4 members voted against it. Meanwhile 5 members abstained from voting.
The speaker of the parliament announced that the resolution will be forwarded to the committee on independent institutions.
