The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has announced that this year’s Eid al-Adha prayer in the Malé region will take place across four designated prayer grounds and 24 mosques.
The large congregational Eid prayers are scheduled to be held at the following locations:
- Maafannu Stadium, Malé
- Vilimalé Football Ground
- Hulhumalé Synthetic Track
- Hulhumalé Phase 2 Cricket Stadium
In addition to these grounds, the Ministry has designated 17 mosques in Malé, one mosque in Vilimalé (Masjid As-Salam), and six mosques across Hulhumalé Phases 1 and 2 to accommodate those performing Eid prayer.
Should weather conditions prevent outdoor congregational prayers, the Islamic Ministry stated that Eid prayers will instead be conducted in all Friday mosques within Malé City.
The Ministry also noted that, as introduced last year, the official Eid prayer time has been brought forward. Eid prayer will now commence at 7:00 a.m., replacing the previous start time of 7:30 a.m.
These arrangements are part of the Ministry’s efforts to ensure smooth and accessible participation for the public in Eid al-Adha prayers across the capital region.
