One year old infant who went missing in Kanditheemu has been found dead in the lagoon.
Kanditheemu Council President Ahmed Ahsan told "Mihaaru" that the family started their search for the missing infant around 6 pm. The child was found in the sea not long after the search began.
"The house is located very close to the beach. The child was found twenty minutes into the search and was rushed to the hospital" he said.
Police said the infant was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital and they are looking into the matter.
