Former President Mohamed Nasheed’s lawyer Hassan Latheef stated that Nasheed was shifted to temporary house arrest following theinstructions issued by doctors in ADK Hospital that Nasheed required a“stress free” environment.
Hassan Latheef stated that Nasheed’s doctors had reported that his condition was caused by stressful environment and therefore required a stress free environment.
He said that he hoped that Corrections would allow Nasheed to undergo the tests recommended by the doctors.
Correctional Services reported that Nasheed was consulted by a neurological doctor as he had spinal injuries.
The Service also said that doctors had warned that continuous travel by launch would only aggravate the injuries.
Nasheed was brought to Male’ on Sunday for consultation, following concerns raised by his family that Nasheed was not granted proper medical care. His family earlier had said that the doctors had recommended that Nasheed undergo MRI scans which had been delayed for over a month.
Nasheed’s lawyer, Hisaan Hussain stated that his spinal injuries were caused in the scuffle that occurred outside Court in the first hearings of the terror charges against him.
