The National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) allocated over MVR 7 million for therapeutic treatments in the past month.
According to figures released by NSPA on Wednesday, the agency spent a total of MVR 7.7 million in August on therapeutic care for individuals with disabilities.
Behavioral therapy was the most sought-after, with 115 individuals receiving it at a cost of MVR 1.9 million. Occupational therapy and early intervention therapy followed, each utilized by 100 people. MVR 1.7 million was spent on occupational therapy, and MVR 1.2 million on early intervention therapy.

Speech therapy was the next most common, provided to 90 individuals at a cost of MVR 1.4 million. Educational therapy was accessed by 67 people, incurring a cost of MVR 1 million.
Physiotherapy for 12 individuals cost MVR 158,200. Psychotherapy for 13 individuals amounted to MVR 140,950.
In the previous month, NSPA offered financial aid to 290 people with disabilities, comprising 212 males and 78 females.
