The national airline, Maldivian, has signed an interline partnership agreement with Azerbaijan Airlines.
Under the agreement, Azerbaijan Airlines passengers will gain seamless access to 17 destinations across the Maldives. The agreement will ease travel for tourists and address potential inconveniences faced by Azerbaijan Airlines passengers.
Island Aviation Services Limited (IASL), the operator of Maldivian, said the agreement is aimed at strengthening the country’s tourism industry. IASL’s Managing Director, Ibrahim Iyaas said the most important objective is to promote Maldives tourism and provide greater comfort for tourists visiting the country.
Azerbaijan Airlines’ Chief Commercial Officer Jamil said the agreement will enhance the travel experience of tourists flying to the Maldives via the airline.
Azerbaijan Airlines, the national flag carrier of Azerbaijan, began operating flights to the Maldives in November last year. The airline currently operates two flights per week to the Maldives.
