China’s Exim Bank and the Government of Maldives have signed the agreement for the development of the new runway in Ibrahim Nasir International Airport. The agreement is valued at US$ 373 million.
Tourism Minister Moosa Zameer signed the agreement on behalf of the Government.
Minister Zameer said that the funds from the agreement will be used to develop the second runway, a fuel farm and other projects at the airport.
Minister Zameer added that once completed the new apron will change the landscape of the airport.
