The government has set specific time slots for transporting goods in Male' City during Ramadan.
The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade announced that goods can be transported from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm and from 8:00 pm to 6:00 am. These timings will be in effect from the first day of Ramadan until the 19th and during the first seven days of Shawwal.
The restricted hours for transporting goods are from 6:00 am to 9:30 am and from 4:30 pm to 8:00 pm.
A different schedule will be followed during the last 10 days of Ramadan. From the 20th of Ramadan until the end of the month, goods can be transported from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm and from 8:00 pm to 6:00 am. The restricted hours remain from 4:30 pm to 8:00 pm.
The Economic Ministry stated that these time slots were determined after consultations with the Transport Ministry and the police.
Ramadan is a busy period for businesses, leading to an increase in the transportation of goods and vehicle traffic in Male'. The designated time slots aim to reduce road congestion and facilitate smoother traffic flow.
