Four Indian nationals arrested from Male’ in a counter-narcotics operation earlier this week claim that what the police seized from them aren’t drugs but a protein.
The four Indian men, suspected by the police of possession and abuse of drugs, were taken to the Criminal Court on Tuesday for their remand hearing.
All four were remanded in police custody for five days.
At the hearing, the police said that they seized from the suspects a substance that they believe to contain drugs. The police said that they expected preliminary results on lab tests within three months.
Meanwhile, all four claimed that the substance the police seized wasn’t drugs, but a protein.
The police have yet to disclose any details regarding the case.
