Sinamalé Bridge to be closed off on Sunday evening

Maldives Police Service (MPS) has revealed that China-Maldives Friendship Bridge more commonly known as Sinamale Bridge, will be closed off on Sunday evening.
As such, Police revealed that the southern side of the bridge, linking capital city Male’ to its suburban extension Hulhumale through Hulhule’, will be closed off from 3pm to 04:30 pm on Sunday evening.
Police revealed that one out of the two lanes in the northern side of the bridge will be for vessels travelling from Hulhumale’ to Male’, and the southern lanes will be closed off to pave way for a running activity that will be held as part of the sports event to be held in commemoration of President Solih’s new government.
The running activity will start from Male’ to Hulhumale’ and will end in Male’.
RaajjeMV understands that President Solih will be joining some of the activities in the sports event named, "Dhulhaheyo Hashiheyo Eid Festival". As such, some of the activities President Solih will be participating in include tennis, cricket, chess, beach volley and swimming.
The bridge was also closed off at various times between 4pm and 7pm on Friday due to the arrival of foreign dignitaries to President Solih’s inauguration. It was also closed off at various times between 2pm and 7pm on Saturday.
Some parts of Boduthakurufaanu Magu and Majeedhee Magu, the area around Republic Square and the national stadium were also closed off on Saturday.
