Before April 2nd arrived، we took our necessary and precautionary steps in securing a seat to experience and enjoy the latest outing of Fast & Furious franchise.
The group stops to catch breath after rescuing Ramsey.
Fast & Furious started off back in 2001، and it was a unique piece of movie even back then. Movies that had mechanical beasts، beautiful blondes and a bust-a-cap style rivalry between the ghetto and the streets، as well as an equally dreadful and vengeful Chinese clan out for the main protagonist’s blood.
It resonated well with me، and it resonated well with many of the racing enthusiasts who loved to see cars and men and women in action. It was a new kind of high-octane action، the kind that involved black-tinted Supras coming out on the road with flashy neon lights، hijacks trailer carriers and speeds off with the loot without much hassle.
Since this serves as an official review of Vaguthu، I must warn those who are reading of the imminent spoilers that will come in this article، so if you still haven’t watched، then you may as well steer clear off this، no harm would be done!
The movie opens with our beloved racing anti-heroes receiving their amnesties and finally in their homeland، with all the felony charges dropped، they are trying to get accustomed to their new lives.

From the opening sequence up until the end credits، Fast & Furious 7 (Furious 7) proves to be the most emotionally heavy movie of the franchise. It had enough and profound reason behind it as well. First of all، the movie marks as the final Fast & Furious movie of Paul Walker as he died back in 2013 in a speedway accident. During that time، half of the movie was done، with another half untouched. To do justice to the part of Brian O’Conner، producers and director of the movie decided to rope Cody and Caleb Walker، Paul’s brother’s as stand-in actors. While the visual effects department had pulled off a neat job in using CGI technology of giving the same physical attributes of Paul Walker’s looks to his body double in the movie، there are often scenes where it becomes a bit too obvious of Paul’s “glitchy” face. This does not impede any dire or adverse impacts on the movie as whole since director James Wan had done an amazing job in using the right camera angle as well as taking the center of attention away from Walker at scenes، where Paul was… well، not Paul.
There is no doubt that the latest addition to the Fast & Furious chain is the most action packed and high-octane movie، among the bunch. From the death defying para-gliding mod-cars to Paul’s leap of faith on to Letty’s vehicle’s spoilers، from the brawl between Hobbs and Shaw to the brutal showdown between Toretto and Shaw، the movie packs more than just punch. It explodes. And all in the best of ways.
During the final beach scene shoot.
The premise of the movie does not follow any deep or intricate story-telling except for the tale is about a very skilled، ex-military “big bad brother” on a vengeance trip to avenge his comatose brother.Since all of you would have already watched Fast & Furious 6، you would all know the ill-fate of Toretto’s friend Han. The movie follows Deckard Shaw’s attempt at killing the remaining member’s of Toretto’s family. But the producers and story-writers made sure the movie does not end like your typical “bad-guy-on-a-revenge-trip-killing-all-good-guys” tale، instead they added a bit more to the story-line to keep it moving. Apart from Statham’s antagonist Shaw، O’Conner and Toretto along with the remaining members are recruited by an unnamed military operative (Kurt Russell) to retrieve a hacker، as well as a specific software titled “God’s Eye.”
The extra added tidbits into the plot، makes the journey worth the ride as، even with a simple premise at play، a lot happens in between. Not just guns blazing and building blowing up، but the team is pitted against an even greater and more powerful foe (or foes) this time around، and they do not win، at first.
Diesel instructing Johnson on a scene.
Actually، it would have come off wrong and quite unnecessary if the protagonists were to walk away without coming across life and death situations، and James Wan delivered an excellent edge-of-the-seat and furious drive in the movie. The best bit of Furious 7 would be the emotional depth، the director had brought and infused into the characters in the movie، though the main antagonist is actually left without much development on his end. Something that was somehow overlooked، but like any other Fast & Furious movie، bad guys are there to receive a beating or have an early upper hand on the good guys. While I was more than sure of Brian’s fate being killed before I entered into the theater، I left the cinema، with tears forming near my eyes. Tears of joy as well as sorrow.
Vin Diesel’s overtone narration right at the end of the movie، when he and Brian O’Conner have their “one last ride” was overwhelmed with emotion، and it was certain، that Dominic Toretto was not only addressing his ally Brian O’Conner، but Diesel was in fact addressing his brother، Paul Walker.
Diesel and Statham، behind the scenes.
This emotional element alone makes Furious 7 unique from it’s previous installments، and a new depth into how Walker’s character is retired makes it even more of a satisfying end. For me، the movie is a straight 4 out 5، for the heavy and heart-pumping action، the powerful one-liners، and the cameo appearance of both Dwayne Johnson and Kurt Russell، who played their part magnificently well. While Diesel، does what he does best as the less talking، more brawling leader، and the Tyrese Gibson’s humor crosses a new level، and does his part well.
Furious 7، was from beginning till it’s end، a Paul Walker movie، and he gets to act out in the best of scenes the movie has to offer the audience، and he does his part well. More importantly، his brothers had also done a splendid job in enacting the persona Walker’s character had in the movies. It was a worthy and in fact a teary goodbye، after all. One that would not be forgotten easily.
