Former President Dr. Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik has stated that the award given by Civil Service Commission was a very valuable one.
Speaking in the ceremony held Thursday night, the former President said around 24000 worked in civil service and being chosen for the award was a reflection on the services rendered during that period.
He said that even though a large prize money cannot be awarded to the winner, other incentives must be given. Additionally, he said the staff should be included in the activities organized by the Civil Service.
Dr. Waheed had appealed to all to apply for the award.
