As the former President Mohamed Nasheed remain in prison and Adhaalath leader Sheikh Imran Abdulla and Jumhooree Party’s Sobah Rasheed remain in Police Custody، the chairperson of opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) Ali Waheed had stated that ‘he is feeling difficult to sleep’.
Ali Waheed made the statement on a tweet he posted late last night.
Feeling difficult to sleep. Thinking of Raees Nasheed، Sheikh Imran & Sobah Rasheed.
Insha Allah I will join the next Thursday night rally.

He further announced that he will be joining the next Thursday night rally organized by the opposition parties. He reportedly did not show up to the rally last night، despite the party announcing he will be attending it.
Though Ali Waheed was detained following the opposition’s mass protest، “Mayday” on May 1، he was released yesterday. JP deputy leader Ameen Ibrahim was also released after being detained along with Ali Waheed، Imran Abdulla and Sobah Rasheed.
Adhaalath leader Imran and JP’s Sobah still remain in police custody.
Ex-President and MDP leader Mohamed Nasheed is currently serving 13 year prison statement on terrorism charges، following the alleged ‘kidnapping’ of Criminal Court Chief Justice Abdulla ‘Gaazee’ Mohamed in 2012.
