The government of Maldives has extended invitation to several international bodies to observe Nasheed’s appeal against the verdict of 13 years of imprisonment.
Some of the organizations had criticized the government of Maldives by stating that Nasheed’s trial proceedings were deeply flawed and had expressed concern over the flagrant irregularities in the trail.
A letter sent by the Foreign Minister Dunya Maumoon has stated that the Maldivian government invites the organizations to observe President’s Nasheed’s appealing procedure.
The invitation has been sent to UN security General، Commonwealth Security General Kamaleysh Sharma، EU and to the office of UN High Commissioner of Human Rights.
