Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed has reaffirmed the Maldivian government's commitment to small and medium enterprises (SMEs), describing them as a vital component of the nation's economic fabric. His remarks were made in a message commemorating the 8th anniversary of the Business Center Corporation (BCC), an institution established to foster and support SME development in the Maldives.
The Minister noted that BCC has been effective in offering guidance to aspiring entrepreneurs and in promoting the products of small businesses across the country. He emphasized that the Maldives continues to see a steady rise in business activity, driven largely by the growing SME sector.
Minister Saeed further stated that President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s administration places significant importance on small businesses, as reflected in the government’s economic agenda. He also highlighted that, for the first time, a Maldivian government has taken tangible steps toward developing a creative economy, recognizing it as a critical pathway for future growth and innovation.
