MNDF advises against swimming with regards to sea swell warning

Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has advise the public not to go for swimming during these days، with regards to the sea swells warnings issued by MET and Disaster Management Centre.
Speaking at VTV tonight، MNDF Coastguard Commander Colonel Mohamed Ibrahim said that it is not safe for swimming these days، especially children and the elderly.
He further urged divers and the tourists to be cautious as well. “If diving، better do it with an instructor who is well capable and aware.”
Colonel Mohamed Ibrahim said that MNDF is ready for any incident، and the authority could minimize any affects due to an incident.
In addition، Commander Ibrahim said that the first priority of MNDF Coastguard would be save lives during a marine accident، and then to recover any vessels involved. He said the authority has the capacity to attend and address any marine accidents that may occur in the Maldives waters.
