President assures citizens the Administration will fulfill their aspirations

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has assured that his Administration will adopt a citizen-centric approach to the development of N. Landhoo.
Speaking to the island’s residents this morning, as part of his ongoing tour of the inhabited islands of Noonu Atoll, the President emphasised that the Administration’s development projects would be carried out in line with the aspirations of the people.
He stated that efforts were already underway to ensure that the island’s health centre becomes operational 24 hours a day. He reaffirmed the Administration’s commitment to strengthening the healthcare sector.
The President also highlighted initiatives to promote fitness and sports, noting that the development of handball is a priority for many islands. He announced that funding for the construction of handball courts would be allocated in the 2026 budget.
Addressing environmental concerns, he said the issue of coastal erosion and the development of a dedicated beach area would be included in the seventh phase of planned works. Agreements for these projects are expected to be signed in September, with physical works scheduled to commence in either November or December this year.
President Dr Muizzu also noted about the ongoing efforts to develop N. Landhoo School, pledging to provide the necessary resources and reiterating the Administration’s commitment to education on the island.
He further announced that the construction of an ice plant in Landhoo is expected to be completed within the year. Work on the island’s water networks will also commence, with the President expressing confidence that these initiatives will be completed ahead of his next visit to the island.
The trip is part of the President’s initiative to tour all Maldivian atolls. He is accompanied by several Cabinet Ministers and senior officials from key Government institutions.
