The youth of Naivaadhoo have taken the initiative of installing a three-phase wiring and installing the ACs at the Masjid al-Awwabeen and handed it over to the council.
As part of this initiative, 12 ACs of 24,000 BTU have been installed at the mosque. The work was officially handed over to the mosque council yesterday.
Speaking on the occasion, Naivaadhoo Council President Ali Rasheed stated that the work of installing three-phase wiring and installation of ACs in the mosque was initiated by the youth of the island last year and all necessary items were procured by youth with assistance of well wishers. He also noted that work itself was carried by the youth.
Moreover, he stated that it will be easier for the Council to provide assistance for such initiatives if it is communicated with the council at an early stage. He also stated that on behalf of the people of Naivaadhoo and on behalf of the Council, he would like to express hos gratitude to all those who have been at the forefront of this initiative and all those who have contributed in various ways.
Furthermore, the council has taken the initiative and brought in the required aircarton for the mosque. With the introduction of ACs, the council has taken the initiative to convert the mosque into a solar-powered mosque to reduce the cost of electricity.
He noted that it is important for the youth to take the lead in order for a society to grow better and the council is happy to see the youth take the lead in this endeavour.
