President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed depart on an unofficial visit to Sri Lanka. President Solih and First Lady Fazna are scheduled to return to the Maldives on July 23, according to the President's Office.
President Solih has made several official and unofficial trips to the neighbouring country since his inauguration. President Solih's first state visit was in February 2019, following an invitation from then Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena for President Solih to attend Sri Lanka's Independence Day celebration as a guest of honour.
