Two people were arrested with drugs from K. Kaashidhoo on Thursday, in a counter-narcotics operation by the local police.
According to a statement released by the police on Sunday, the arrests were made as part of a counter-narcotics operation the Kaashidhoo Police Station launched on September 7.
The two suspects were arrested from the forest area in the northern district of Kaashidhoo on Thursday night, after the police received a tip regarding the possession and peddling of drugs.
The suspects arrested in the case are:
Ahmed Firaq, 46, Saadhaage, K. Kaashidhoo
Salim Naseer, 43, Sharaf, K. Kaashidhoo

According to the police, a search of their person and the surrounding area left to the seizure of 110 rubber packets containing suspected drugs weighing 10.6 grams.
When presented before a judge at a local court, Salim was remanded in custody of the police for 10 days, and Firaq for seven days.
The case is under further investigation by the Kaashidhoo Police Station.
