Former Deputy Mayor of Male’ City Council Ahmed Nareesh has been appointed as an advisor to the Minister of Youth Empowerment, Information and Arts. Nareesh was appointed to the post at the ministerial level.
Nareesh was appointed to the post and presented with his letter of appointment on Thursday, a day after he resigned as the Deputy Mayor of Male’ City Council.
In his resignation letter, Nareesh expressed appreciation to President Dr Mohamed Muizzu for his guidance, and described the President as a leader who works effectively with individuals of different political views to achieve the desired results swiftly. He added that the President is a leader who brought rapid and positive changes to Male’ City, and appreciated the valuable lessons he learned from him.
Nareesh said his time in the Male’ City Council gave him the opportunity to gain experiences that contributed to his personal and professional growth. He also expressed gratitude to Mayor Adam Azim for the guidance and lessons received during their time working together.
