Shainee: Nasheed has no chance at the election

Fisheries Minister, Dr. Mohamed Shainee has said that even with the former President Mohamed Nasheed working to get back in to power with the help of foreign influences, the government is not discussing it with any country.
The Fisheries Minister has made the remark after the former President Nasheed stated that discussions with the US and India would lead to him being able to run in the 2018 Presidential Election.
Dr. Shainee said that the government is not talking to any country about the election next year. He said that the only way Nasheed can run in the election is by changing the Maldivian Constitution.
After being self-exiled to the UK, after being sentenced to 13 years in prison for the illegal arrest of the former Chief Judge of the Criminal Court, Abdulla Mohamed, Nasheed has repeatedly stated that he would be running in the election next year.
And so Nasheed has said that it would become possible with joint talks with US and India.
Noting that MDP currently wants to move forward together with the opposition coalition, Nasheed said that MDP would decide on a candidate through primaries.
