A private car travelling from the bridge interlinking Addu City Gan and Feydhoo، has skidded from the track and “dived” off to sea.
According to reports the car had fallen off the bridge from Gan’s side، to the sea near Gan’s Youth Center. The car had skidded off track sometime around 04:30hrs at dawn while it was coming from Gan International Airport.
Reports have stated the driver had been reckless and incautious to the road ahead، when the car had lost track and fell into the sea.
At the time of the accident، 3 individuals were on-board the vehicle، however no one had received injuries although the car had been damaged to some extent.
The vehicle had been taken off from the sea with the aid of Addu City police officials who coordinated with the owners of the car.
Furthermore، the car has been identified to be registered under Addu City Council’s Deputy Director Mohamed Haleel. Reports confirm that his son had been driving the vehicle at the time of the accident.
