The Maldives has strongly condemned the large-scale ground offensive launched by the Israeli Occupation Forces to seize control of Gaza, Palestine.
A statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said such actions constitute a grave escalation of the ongoing war and further aggravate an already dire humanitarian crisis. 
The Maldives reiterated its call on the international community to take urgent, and unified measures to prevent further escalation and to hold Israel accountable for the immense suffering and hardship it continues to inflict upon innocent civilians in Gaza. The statement emphasised that Israel’s actions cannot and should not be tolerated, as it relentlessly targets civilians and violates fundamental principles of international law.
The Maldives further reaffirmed its firm and unwavering support for the just and legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including their right to self-determination and to an independent and sovereign State of Palestine, based on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
