The Maldives Police Service (MPS) has held flag hoisting ceremonies at established police stations across the nation to mark the 93rd anniversary of the institution.
In the capital, Malé, the flag hoisting ceremony was held at the MPS headquarters, Shaheed Hussain Adam Building. The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Homeland Security and Technology, Ali Ihusaan. Also in attendance were the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Farhad Fikry, executive police officers, several commissioned police officers, and members of the public.
Following the flag hoisting, MPS officials recited their oath, and a special prayer was offered for the occasion.
During the ceremony, the book of condolences was signed for the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Retd), Abdul Shukoor Abdulla, who served the state for 43 years, and former Counsel General Hassan Hameed, who served the state for 35 years. The Minister of Homeland Security and Technology, the Deputy Commissioner of Police, along with commissioned officers, signed the book.
Outside the capital, Malé, flag-hoisting ceremonies were held on islands across the nation with established police stations. Members of government institutions, police stations, and other senior officials on the islands participated in the ceremony.
